Professional Background
Dan began his career in a small paediatric clinic, where he developed a strong foundation working with children and young adults with complex needs. His early work spanned across early intervention and adolescent support, providing him with a broad and adaptable skillset. Dan also undertook a year of rural practice, further honing his ability to deliver flexible, family-centred care and facilitate intensive therapy programs during school holidays. Now at iThrive, Dan draws on this diverse experience to deliver goal-directed therapy that is both effective and engaging. He is committed to creating a positive therapeutic environment where clients feel understood, empowered, and motivated to achieve meaningful outcomes.
Core Skills & Strengths
Dan is a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist whose core belief is that therapy should be fun, meaningful, and deeply engaging. He is particularly interested in supporting children and teenagers—particularly boys who have burnt out on traditional therapy approaches. Dan believes in reigniting motivation and confidence through genuine connection and shared interests. Whether working within early intervention, typically developing teens or neurodiverse individuals, Dan quickly builds strong rapport, often forming a connection from the very first session. His sessions are crafted to be dynamic and enjoyable, creating a safe and supportive space where clients feel understood, valued, and motivated to grow. Dan brings a wealth of experience across neurodiversity, early intervention, executive function challenges, sensory processing, emotional regulation, and motor skill development.
Passion & Motivation
I’m passionate about making therapy fun, engaging, and meaningful. Especially for kids who’ve found it tough or tiring in the past. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a child rediscover joy, feel understood, and genuinely look forward to coming back. I love bringing energy, connection, and creativity to sessions, turning challenges into opportunities for confidence and growth.
